The world feels like it's in chaos right now. You see it in the news, social media, family gatherings, even at coffee with friends. And it's scary. Depression, anxiety, and substance abuse are all on the rise. But I'm hear to say that you are not alone and there is hope. There's a Facebook quote I've seen floating around that says "I'd rather hear about your problems than about your passing", and every time I see that post I have to pause. There are times where I've had so much on my brain and my chest but felt there was no one to tell, or that telling someone would be a burden to them. But my friend, that's a trap because I would rather hear about your problems than about your passing.
Sometimes a safe place is a person, not a location. All you need is that one person to hear you, to see you.
But if you feel that there is no one to talk to, please PLEASE check out one or a few of these resources. Someone will ALWAYS listen. You are not alone.
And always remember: I would rather hear about your problems than about your passing.
